“I swear it was an accident.” Kirk gave his first officer his best innocent expression. “I didn’t even know that your hand was that close to mine.”
Spock remained impassive, staring at his captain unblinking. It was disconcerting, and Kirk felt hot under his collar. It was almost like Spock knew he was lying.
Okay, so he had brushed his fingers against Spock’s while going through the labs together.
He hadn’t planned on it. They were just walking around, Spock talking about the different things that were being worked on and they were alone, and Kirk remembered something Uhura told him about how Vulcans show affection. He harbored feelings for his first officer. That was no secret, or at least he didn’t think it was. He thought he was pretty damn blatant about it, but Spock always seemed oblivious. So he tested something. Now they were standing in his ready room with Spock giving him this blank yet somehow extremely judgemental look.
